How to Install the RV LED Light Side-Slide Dimmer Switch with an InCommand Touch Panel

Question:

Hi I installed one of these switches in my RV to dim lights that are not also controlled by the InCommand touch panel. It works great. Id like to install another one to dim the ceiling lights in the main room. They are controlled by both the InCommand touch panel, and also by a switch on the other side of the room. I want to replace that switch with this 3-way capable dimmer. My problem is I have no idea what wire gets connected to the blade shown on the back of the switch marked 3-way SW/IP. Thanks

The easiest way to figure this out is going to be by pulling off your current switch. The RV LED Light Side-Slide Dimmer Switch # 37205-12315 has a 3 wire install, the back of the switch shows which wire gets wired to where. The 3-way SW-IP you are seeing is where you would wire from one switch to the switch on the other side of the room to create the 3-way switch. This may or may not be needed when using the InCommand touch panel. The easiest way to tell is by using your current switch to diagnose what you have going on. If your old switch only has 3 wires then the InCommand touch panel operates differently and doesn't need that wire to create the 3-way. If you pull off your current switch and have 4 wires then you will need to figure out which wire is the jumper from that switch to the InCommand panel and that is what will go in that 3-way hole you see on the back of the Dimmer switch.
