E-Bike Rack Solution that Allows Rear Tailgate Access to GMC Canyon
Question:
Looking for a 2 bike rack that allows full access to the rear of my GMC Canyon with the tailgate down. Do the racks that tilt allow this or do I need a swing away rack? One E bike weighs 54 lbs with fenders and other weighs 37 lbs no fenders. Recomendations? Thank You

Expert Reply:
If you need full access to the rear of your truck with the tailgate down you'll need to go with a pivot adapter with an e-bike rack since you need an e-bike for your 54 lb bike and since these types of racks don't tilt far enough the pivot would allow you the access you want.
So for the rack the Yakima OnRamp part # Y36FR would work really great since it has the capacity you'd need and has a built in ramp. The to allow the rack to pivot you'd just need the # Y02483 and you'd be set.
