Recommended Replacement Tires for Boat Trailer With 8.75R16.5 Tires

Question:

I am looking to replace X4 tires on my boat trailer. The current tires are 8.75 R 16.5. The bolt pattern is 6 on 5 1/2. The weight of my boat with fuel/water is ~6500 lbs and the trailer is ~ 1800 lbs for a total of ~8100 lbs. What are your recommendations? Thank you

The 8.75R16.5 tires you have on your boat trailer now are not a typical trailer tire size. More than likely these are light truck tires with LT after the tire size. We do not carry a tire that will fit 16-1/2" rims so your only option would be to replace both the wheels and tires.

Should you choose to replace both, I recommend the Karrier ST225/75R15 Radial Tire with 15" White Spoke Wheel - 6 on 5-1/2" - Load Range E # AM32680. These wheels and tires will fit your 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern. It looks like your existing tire has a diameter of 29.5" and width of 8.8" and the Kenda Karrier has an outer diameter of 28.4" and width of 8.9" so it will be slightly shorter. This tire has a maximum speed of 81 mph and max load of 2,830 lbs at 80 psi.

I have attached a review video as well as a link to all of our wheels and tires of this size with a 6 on 5-1/2 bolt pattern for your reference.
