Replacement Hub and Drum Assembly for Equipment Trailer with Mobile Home Axles

Question:

I have an equipment trailer with 2 Mobile home axles, currently it uses 14.5inch wheels. What hubs or kit can I use to convert these axles to regular wheels? Both axles have brakes. They both use the same bearings, Outer bearing is LM67048 1.25” Inner bearing is unreadable, but measures 1.375”. The seal is 10-40.

Based on the measurements you have taken, the inner bearing is the # LM48548. This is a bearing for an agricultural hub and does not match any hub and drum assemblies with the # LM67048 outer bearing. This is common with mobile home axles. More often than not the only option is to replace the axle, which is what you will need to do if you want to change the hubs and drums to use different wheels.

If you decide to replace your axles, you will need to know the capacity as well as the length of your axle. I have attached a diagram showing what you will need to measure. The length is the hub face to hub face distance. You can measure the spring center, or spring seat to spring seat, but this could be adjusted if necessary.

If you send me this information I would be happy to recommend a replacement axle for your equipment trailer. I have also attached a link to all of our available axles that you can check out and filter down by length and capacity.
