Recommended Replacement Axle for Rockwell American 3,500 Pound Axle

Question:

I have a Longhorn flatbed car hauler trailer with two 3500 lb Rockwell American axles. After hitting a LARGE chuck hole they are now both bent. Hub face is 95, spring center to center is 80. If I replace the axles with item #7359765, would the original Rockwell hub/drum assemblies fit on the Dexter axles? Id like to re-use the originals since they dont have many hours on them. Thanks

Helpful Expert Reply:

The Dexter Trailer Axle Beam with E-Z Lube Spindles - 95" Long - 3,500 lbs # 7359765 matches what you have right now exactly, and will allow you to use your current hub and drum assemblies if your bearings match. For 3,500 lb axles, including the # 7359765, the common inner bearing is the # L68149 and outer bearing is the # L44649. Odds are you have the same bearings in your current assembly, but I would check just to be sure.

I have attached a review of the axle that you can check out along with a helpful article on common wheel bearing sizes based on axle capacity.
