According to the online manual for a 2000 Ford F-150 if you have a 2WD model with an automatic transmission you will need to remove the driveshaft if a distance of 80 km (50 miles) or a speed of 56 km (35 mph) is exceeded.
If you still want to flat tow your 2000 Ford F-150 2WD then you can use the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar for Roadmaster Crossbar Base Plates - 2" RV Mount - 10,500lbs # e64ZR. This tow bar features a non-binding design and telescoping, self-supporting arms to make hooking up and disconnecting a breeze.
Base Plate: Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # 492-1. The crossbar-style hidden brackets attach to your Ford F-150's frame to provide attachment points for your tow bar. The visible portions of the brackets can be removed when you are not towing.
Tow Bar Wiring: Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Wire Hybrid Cord # RM-152-1676-7. This diode kit includes everything you need to connect your RV's tail, brake, and turn signal lights to your towed car. The diodes will prevent feedback and wire your car to operate as a combined system.
Braking System: Brake Buddy Select 3 Portable Supplemental Braking System - Proportional # HM39524. This braking system offers intense, emergency braking or steady, smooth braking in a single portable system. Easily switch between proportional or full braking using the remote from your RV. The included charge line kit will keep your f-150's battery charged so you don't arrive at your destination and have to deal with a dead battery.
Safety Cables: Blue Ox 7' Safety Cables - 10,000lbs - Qty 2 # BX88197. The coiled design of these cables will help prevent them from dragging on the ground and being damaged.
You may also require a high/low adapter to keep your tow bar level while towing your vehicle. This will require some measuring on your part so I've attached our help guide article that will walk you through the steps of determining the correct drop/rise.
