What Universal Class V Hitch Receiver will Fit My 34-Inch Frame?
Question:
Trying to find a trailer hitch based on size rather than model my vehicle isnt listed. I am looking for a class 5 hitch. The frame rails are 34 inches wide, bolt holes are 32 inches apart. Current hitch side plates are about 9 inches long. Have room for side plates up to 13 inches long. Is there a hitch that will work with these dimensions?

Given that your vehicle is not listed on our fitguide for available hitches, one option with your provided dimensions is the Draw-Tite Ultra Frame Service Body Trailer Hitch Receiver # 41990-07. With this hitch, you will be able to adjust the 9-1/2 inch mounting brackets in order to weld onto your vehicle's 34 inch wide frame. This hitch is a 2-inch class V receiver. As far as installation, the hitch requires welding, so you will not be able to use your current bolt holes. I went ahead and attached measurements of the mounting brackets to help you.
One of the things you need to consider is whether you vehicle can hold the weight that the class V hitch offers (1,600 pounds of max tongue weight and 16,000 pounds max towing capacity). I recommend confirming with your owner's manual to make sure that your vehicle can safely handle this amount of weight.
If you want me to confirm for sure that we don't have any customized options to fit your vehicle, feel free to respond to this answer with the year/make/model of your vehicle.
