Fifth Wheel Hitch Recommendation for 2002 Ford F-250 Short Bed Towing 2020 Grand Design 150 Series

Question:

Im looking at AIRLIFT LOAD LIFTER 5000 for my 2002Ford F250 2 wheel drive. I just purchased a BandW Companion hitch and under bed rails last night. Now I want to be able to improve my ride while towing my fifth wheel. Is this the right unit. also does this have its own compressor and does it have inside leveling controls?

I checked out the 2020 Grand Design 150 and since it has a tapered nose and an extended pin box plus the fact that your short bed 2002 Ford F-250 is on the longer side you would not need a slider hitch to make tight turns.

So you could use a B and W Companion fixed hitch like the part # BWRVK3500 with the rail kit part # BWGNRK1108 which is custom fit for your truck. This will give you what most consider to be the nicest and quietest fifth wheel hitch out there that uses a rail kit that will give you a totally clean truck bed when not in use that also doubles as a gooseneck hitch.

Not having to use a slider hitch helps out in a couple ways. The hitch will be lighter since slider hitches are heavier and the hitch will be quieter since slider hitches have a lot more moving parts.

Since you have a B and W Turnoverball gooseneck hitch the correct Air Lift kit is the part # AL57291. This kit only is the air bags, air lines, mounting brackets, and a manual inflation valve. We have compressor kits like you are wanting but these kits do not include them. For a compressor kit then the heavy duty part # AL25854 will work great to make inflating the bags and maintaining them easier. The compressor will inflate faster than standard compressors and the gauge inside the vehicle will allow you to monitor and inflate them from inside the vehicle.
