Wiring Brake Controller and Testing the Voltage on a 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited
Question:
What voltage is required on RED wire on brake controller And would 3rd brake light be an option for connection? 2016 Jeep JKU SPORT

Expert Reply:
You should get a constant 12 volts on the red wire when you step on the brakes and no voltage when not stepping on the brakes. You can use a circuit tester like the item # PTW2992 to measure the voltage coming off of the 3rd brake light. For your 2016 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited, I recommend tying into the white and brown wire coming off of the brake light switch.
