Is the Blue Ox 7-Wire to 6-Wire and Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Umbilical Cord Interchangeable
Question:
I had to replace my worn out Blue Ox cable never had issues with it. I bought a Roadmaster replacement and now I have the right turn fuse blowing on RV while towing. Ohming out the wires, I discovered the 12V red and the brake controller blue/black are reversed compared to my old Blue Ox cable. Could this be wired wrong from factory or is it common for different manufacturers to wire differently? I purchased my wiring kit on the Jeep from you so I guess I could change the wires at the plug socket in the front of the Jeep. Thanks, just wondering if I should send the cable back or have it replaced.

The Blue Ox 7-Wire to 6-Wire part # BX88206 is pinned the exact same as the Roadmaster 7-Wire to 6-Wire Flexo-Coil Kit part # RM-146-7 so you can swap between umbilical cords without having to rewire the plug. If you're having issues then I suggest checking out the taillight or however the kit is wired to receive signals from the motorhome.
