When Using Curt Cargo Carrier in 1-1/4 inch Hitch is Same Hitch Pin Used
Question:
I have a 1 1/4 inch receiver hitch. On Curt 18110 Cargo receiver do I need to use the adapter that comes with the cargo carrier? If not do I use the bolt that is threaded with the hole as the hitch pin bolt or do I need a separate hitch bolt? If I use the threaded bolt with the hole and do not use the adapter as the hitch bolt what keeps that bolt from sliding back and forth as it is much too long to fit snug? Should there be another screw that’s gets threaded on? Thank you?

When using the Curt hitch carrier part # C18110 in a 1-1/4 inch hitch you'd need to take off the 2 inch hitch adapter on the end of the shank. This will allow it to fit the smaller hitch size. The same threaded hitch pin gets used whether you use the 2 inch adapter or not as the shank has threads in it that the bolt threads too which allows the bolt to lock it against the hitch tube.

Great customer service! Both Mike and now Jameson have answered my questions. I now know I ordered the correct cargo carrier to be compatible with my class 1 hitch, what weight I could carry and how to properly use the pin that came with the carrier. Great job guys!
