Installing an Equalizer Hanger and Finding the Location for Mounting
Question:
Converting a single axle boat trailer to a double. Trying to figure out where the stabilizer hanger should mount. Trailer boat, motor and gear weight appx 3500 lbs. Boat and motor appx. 2600 lbs. With single axle I have 250 lbs tongue weight. I know where the center of gravity is with boat on the trailer. Where in reference to the cog should the equalizer bracket be mounted. Thanks

Thank you for the weights but to give you the exact spot I would need the length of your trailer. The center point of your equalizer hanger needs to be located where you will have 60 percent of the frame of the trailer in front of the center of the equalizer hanger and 40 percent behind the center of the equalizer hanger. If you have a 20 foot trailer the center would need to be at the 8 foot point measured from the back, 12 foot point if you measured from the front. I have attached a help article as well.
I recommend the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for Double-Eye Springs - 2-1/2" Front/Rear, 5-7/16" Center item # APT1.
