Parts Needed To Add A Brake Controller To A 1996 Ram 3500 With A 4 Flat Plug
Question:
What all is needed to install the red ark tow prow to a 1996 Ram 3500? I only have a 4 pin flat connector and plans on towing a travel trailer.

Already having a 4 Flat on your 1996 Ram 3500 actually gets you partly there, so it is a very good start. Our Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 will actually piggyback off that 4 Flat you currently have and then includes all the wires needed to run up the the battery and cab, plus all the brackets and circuit breakers. I included an install video we did on a 99 Ram with a different controller, but it will be the exact same way you will be doing it.
From there, you are basically free to mount the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR in the place of your choosing, but you will also need the # RED69FR to connect it to the wiring. Being able to mount this wherever you want is one of the big pluses with this controller, but I definitely recommend finding the most comfortable and natural feeling spot to reach for when needed.
