Troubleshooting Blown Trailer Wiring Fuse with New Batteries in Truck

Question:

No issues before. I Bought 3 new batteries for my truck. Now every time my trailer light fuse blows out. Checked everything humanly possible. Is it the batteries the cause?

The only reason that a battery would directly cause a trailer light to malfunction is if the battery was 6V and the lights are for 12V or vice versa. Usually when a trailer light fuse blows it has to do with the wiring. Be sure to check all of your connectors and wiring looking for any places where there is some corrosion or damaged wiring and replace as necessary. If your vehicle or trailer connector needs to be cleaned out do that as well and then apply some dielectric grease # 11755 to help protect the connector in the future.

If you've already done all of this then I recommend having someone else take a look at your setup as well. Sometimes a fresh set of eyes can find something that we have overlooked, especially if we've been looking at it for a while.
