Is Sidewinder and Fixed Hitch Best Way to Tow 5th Wheel with 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 5.5 ft Bed

Hi all, Will the part Curt Custom Fifth Wheel Installation Kit for Chevy/GMC - Carbide Finish Item # C16411-204 fit on my 2017 GMC Sierra Denali 1500 58 truck bed? Im considering buying the A20k Curt hitch along with the Reese airborne sidewinder, just wondering if I have a complete fitting kit for my truck? Thanks in advance

The Sidewinder pin boxes like the part # RP34FR provide 22-1/2 inches of additional turning clearance so they would provide your 2017 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali with a 5-1/2 foot bed with enough turning clearance. This is widely considered to be the best option for shorter bed trucks like yours so it would work great for you.

For a hitch you'd want a stationary hitch like the Reese part # RP30928 with the custom rail kit for your truck part # RP50064-58. You can't slide a slider hitch back with a Sidewinder too since the Sidewinder would hit the tailgate by the way.

Lastly you'd need a wedge to lock the hitch to the Sidewinder with part # RP44FR and you'd be set.

You will need to stick with a setup like the Reese part # RP30928 with the custom rail kit for your truck part # RP50064-58 with wedge # RP44FR. Curt A-Series is no longer compatible with Reese Sidewinders.
