Parts Needed to Get a 7-way Connector and Brake Controller on a 2022 Toyota Sienna
Question:
I have a hitch on my 2022 Toyota Sienna but need a brake controller and 7-way. What all do I need to get these on my Sienna? I don't do any crazy towing but do occasionally pull a small trailer.

The first thing you will need to do to get a 7-way and brake controller on your 2022 Toyota Sienna is to install a 4-way connector like the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # TK69FR. Because you mentioned that you don't often tow I recommend the Curt Echo Wireless Trailer Brake Controller # C51180, this brake controller is a bluetooth-enabled brake controller that wirelessly connects to your smartphone, turning your phone into a brake control interface. So there is no need for a bulky brake controller inside of your Sienna and you wont have to drill any holes to mount the brake controller.
To make the Curt Echo brake controller function you will need to use the 7-Way RV Upgrade Kit # ETBC7L which is designed to be used with the Echo brake controller. The # ETBC7L is going to use the 4-way connecter you installed and then the white wire will get grounded to the frame of your vehicle, and the black wire needs to be run to the positive terminal of your battery with the included 40-amp circuit breaker. Most trailer hitches do not have a built in bracket for your 7-way connector. If your hitch does not have a bracket you will want to pick up a Curt No-Drill Bracket # C57202 to attach your 7-way too.
This is going to be the easiest and cleanest way to get a 7-way connector and brake controller on your 2022 Toyota Sienna.
