Will Wiring Mix-up On HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator Cause Brake Lag
Question:
I was given a used pump from a friend. The wires were loose on the circuit board so i fixed that problem but in the moment I realized I pulled the blue and yellow wire off and was unsure if I put them vack in the right place. Pump does work and it will lock up the brakes when the break away is pulled. But when i squeeze the brake controller it has a second or so delay before stopping. Brake are fully bled. Can I possibly have the blue and yellow wire reversed.

In regards to the HydraStar Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator part # HBA16, the blue wire is for the brake output signal which comes from the in-cab brake controller and the yellow wire comes from the breakaway switch. The unit would not work if these wires were reversed.
The lag is common with factory in-cab brake controllers and in which case you could switch to an aftermarket controller like the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 to fix the issue.
