Cargo Carrier for Alpine Skis on Thule AeroBlade Edge Roof Rack

Question:

Hello, I would like to mount both a Thule cargo carrier and another accessory for a pair of alpine skis that are too long for cargo carrier. The Thule SkiClick looks only compatible for cross-country skis and not alpine skis and bindings. Is there something you could recommend, both cargo carrier and ski carrier to hold a single pair of alpine skis, two maximum that I could mount at same time to the Thule Aeroblade edge crossbars 7602 and 7603 on a 2017 BMW X1? Thank you!!

Thank you for all of the information! It looks like the widest amount of crossbars space you'll have with the Thule WingBar Edge Kit, parts # TH33RE, # TH89SC, and # TH186007, on your 2017 BMW X1 is 33-1/4" so we need to keep the width of our accessories under that. Pretty much every cargo box that is out there will be wide enough that you won't be able to fit a box and a ski carrier to your crossbars so we need to make sure we are getting a box that will work for your skis.

We do have cargo boxes that should be long enough for your alpine skis but we would need to verify the length of your skis to make sure they fit. For example, the Thule Motion XT # TH629806 is compatible with skis up to 200 cm long. If your skis are shorter then that, then you will be able to carry your skis plus some extra cargo. This box is 36" wide though so it will sit over the full width of your crossbars (the mounting hardware is narrower which is why it will work for you).
