How Does Hardwired Power Watchdo Surge Protector Test without RV Connected if Hardwired
Question:
I intend to purchase a 30amp Power Watchdog MODEL:PWD30-EPO-H and have it hard-wired into my RV. The operating instructions says that I should plug in the Watchdog by itself, without the RV attached and that the unit runs diagnostics to determine if the RV park’s electrical system has any issues or problems. However, I realize that this is not possible if the unit is hard-wired into my RV. I’m wondering if it may be better for me to purchase the standalone unit which appears to afford me the protection of knowing beforehand whether there is an electrical problem at the pedestal. Am I understanding this correctly?

You could switch off your RV's breaker box so that when you plug in to the RV power source the Hardwired Power Watchdog Surge Protector with Bluetooth and Emergency Shut Down # HU77FR could get a reading without risking running any power your RV.
