Which Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers Will Work with a 2003 Rockwood 1940LTD

Question:

I have a 2003 Rockwood 1940 LTD after mounting this bike rack system will I be able to pull out my bunk ends to full extension? Or will I have to remove the rack to operate my pop-up camper? When installing this bike rack system are you able to adjust the height of it?

The Stromberg Carlson Bike Bunk Trailer-Mounted Bike Rack Carrier for A-Frame Trailers - 2"-100 lbs # CC-275 sits 33-1/2" from the top of the trailer frame, so it will depend on the height of your pop up camper walls from the top of the trailer frame. You would be able to remove the bike rack from the receiver on the Bike Bunk when you reach your destination, but the height might still be too much for your 2003 Rockwood 1940LTD.

Instead of the Bike Bunk I recommend you take a look at the Jack-It 2 Bike Rack for A-Frame Trailers - 22-1/2" Jack Clearance # LC429756, which installs over the jack and you can remove most of the rack from the stand in order to allow you to fold out the extensions. The Jack-It sits 22-1/2" tall over the jack, so as long as you've got that much clearance from the trailer frame to the bottom of the extension, this would be the best solution.

If you find that you've got a different height from the frame to the bottom of the extension, let me know and I can look to see if there is an alternate solution for you.
