Troubleshooting Trailer Electric Brake Assembly Locking Up After Brakes Are Released
Question:
I have all new brakes on my trailer. However when i apply my brakes and let off. The right rear brakes. Stays on. Only the right rear. And i had to cut the wire to it. To get it to release.

If you only have 1 brake that is remaining locked up then I would start off by looking at that brake assembly, keeping close attention to the wiring itself. It does seem odd that only 1 assembly is staying locked up and the only explanation that I can think of is damaged wiring someone along the line that is continuing to power that assembly.
What you can do is reconnect that assembly and then use the manual override on your tow vehicle to lock all of the brakes up. Then let go of the manual override and try tracing where that power is coming from using a tester like part # PTW2992.
You might try adjusting that one brake assembly too so that it isn't as aggressive, but since it only released once you cut the power wire that indicates that it was still getting power so you'll want to trace that down and fix it.
