Will the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Adapter Work With Draw-Tite Fold-Down Gooseneck Hitch

Question:

I have a 2014 Ford F-250 Super Duty with a ball that flips up. There is a plate in the middle of the bed and the ball lays down sideways in the plate with a flip up plate the ball lays under. Will the DM8550045 unit work for this type of ball hitch? I see lots of posts about working with the ball that pulls out and flips upside down in the hole like the BandW, but my ball hitch is different. Thanks in advance.

I spoke to Demco about using the Demco Recon Gooseneck-to-5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Adapter part # DM8550045 with the Draw-Tite Fold-Down Gooseneck Trailer Hitch and they said there should not be any issues although they have not been able to test this. The only potential issue they mentioned was possibly having to remove the safety chain u-bolts but this would not be known until test fit. It's possible the cutout on the bottom of the adapter will clear them but it's a precaution you'd need to consider.
