Recommended 7-way/4-way Connector and Trailer Brake Controller For 2022 Toyota Sienna
Question:
I just finished installing a trailer hitch on my 2022 Toyota Sienna and now need to install a 7-way connector for my trailer with trailer brakes. Occasionally I tow a smaller trailer without trailer brakes so I would like a connector that has both a 7-way and 4-way connector if possible.

The 7-way connector I recommend for your 2022 Toyota Sienna is the # ETBC7L which is designed for wireless brake controllers such as the Curt Echo Wireless # C51180. I prefer this option as it will not require you to mount a trailer brake controller inside of your Sienna, and you will not need to drill any holes or run any wires in the interior. It also has both a 7-way and 4-way connector just like you were wanting.
To install the # ETBC7L you will first need to install a 4-way connector using the Tekonsha # TK69FR which will plug in to the factory connector on your vehicle with no splicing required. You will then plug the connector of the # ETBC7L into your newly installed 4-way connector and will need to make two more connections. The white wire will get grounded to the frame of your vehicle, and the black wire needs to get run to the positive terminal of your battery with the included 40-amp circuit breaker.
As mentioned above this kit was designed around the Echo # C51180, and this is the controller I recommend for you. This controller is unique in how it installs in your 7-way connector so you do not have to deal with a bulky controller inside of your vehicle, but also it can be easily removed so it can be used in any vehicle that has a functional 7-way connector which is ideal if you have a few different vehicles.
If your trailer hitch does not have a built in mounting bracket you will need the no-drill mounting bracket long # C57202 to attach the # ETBC7L to your hitch. This bracket will attach to the crosstube of your hitch and can be bent as needed to place the 7-way in the exact location you want.
I included a few videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
