When you install the Thule Spare Me 2 # TH963PRO on the spare tire of your 2003 Honda CR-V you will need to adjust the mounting plate as far to the left (drivers side) as possible. When you load your bikes, you will want to load them in the center of your vehicle rather than in the center of the rack. By using both of these methods, you be as center as possible. I have attached a short installation video on a SUV that has the spare tire more on the right (passengers) side of the vehicle.

The picture shows the Spare Me 2 # TH963PRO on the back of a Honda with the spare tire on the passenger side.

If you plan on carrying either womens or alternative frame bikes, I recommend checking out the Thule Adapter Bar # TH982XT which carries your bike level as well as providing ground clearance.
