Should Vehicle Towed on Tow Dolly be in Park or Neutral

Question:

Is there any possibility that the ramps could come in contact with the bottom of the car when towing?

When flat towing a vehicle you need to first check the owners manual to see what the recommended procedure is for towing it on a tow dolly like the # RM-2050-1. In most cases you need to put the vehicle in park as most vehicles are front wheel drive but if the vehicle was rear wheel drive it would need to be in neutral if the vehicle could be towed with a dolly.

Also the steering wheel will need to be locked out as well.

In general you would not need to worry about the ramps coming into contact with the bottom of the vehicle when towing with a tow dolly, but if you had a vehicle with very low ground clearance and you were travelling over a very steep elevation change it would be wise to keep an eye on it.
