Compatibility Of Yakima BackSwing Hitch Extender On a Tesla Model Y With Rear Sensors
Question:
Does anyone know if the rear sensors for the Tesla Model Y will be interrupted if I keep JUST the Backswing mounted without any bike rack? I would like to keep it mounted even during daily driving without having to turn on the Trailer Mode feature in my car. Trailer Mode disables auto pilot.

I do have a way for you to be able to test this with your Tesla Model Y as I cannot find that anyone has tested this on a Tesla.
The Yakima BackSwing Swing Away Hitch Extender # Y02483 will extend 11-3/4" from the hitch pin center to the center of the swing arm. You can test your sensors with an object at this distance behind your Tesla to see if the sensors detect it at the receiver height.
