Hitch Mounted Spare Carrier that Allows Rear Trunk Area Access
Question:
I am looking for an affordable way to carry a full-size spare tire on our 2017 Ford Escape. We have a Class III, 2inch Draw-Tite Max-E-Loader Trailer Hitch Receiver from etrailer mounted on the car already, so Im interested in tire carrier that attaches to the trailer hitch - but Im worried about it getting in the way of opening the trunk. Do you have any suggestions?

Expert Reply:
For a hitch mounted spare carrier that will allow you to have rear cargo area access we have the Roadmaster carrier part # RM-195125 which can fold down to the side when you need to get into the trunk so it can be out of the way.
There isn't a way to do a fixed spare carrier and still have access to rear cargo area.
