Curt C74VV Venturer Brake Controller Installed on 2006 GMC Sierra Not Getting Power  

Question:

I am hooking up the curt brake controller to my 2006 g m c Sierra I plug the adapter wire into the factory block under the dash and then into my brake controller but have no power to the brake controller looked at the external fuses under the hood but cannot figure out which one it is the ones I check are all good. Do you have any ideas for me

GM didn't always complete the power feed to the brake controller plug under the dash. No worries, the procedure is pretty simple. Remove the cover from the fuse block under the hood, there will be an outer and an inner cover. Located the threaded stud on the inboard side of the fuse box, there's two of them, you're wanting the one closest to the firewall. Make sure the green 30A fuse is installed next to the stud, as shown in the provided photo.

You'll want to find a red wire with a ring terminal on it, it'll usually be located between the fuse panel and the fender or between the fused block and the firewall. You'll want to install that wire on the threaded stud I mentioned above. With the wire installed on the stud and the fuse in place, the brake controller will power up for you.
