Recommended Replacement Key For Rhino Rack Locks with 106 Stamped on Front of Lock Cores

Question:

Just got a new car that came with a Rhino Rack installed but no Keys. It has 4 locks with all say 106. How can I get a new key and/or replace the lock cores? I see online that I can get a new lock core set 4 but how can I replace them without the key to the current locks?? Are there instructions on how to remove the existing locks to replace them if I dont have a key to the current locks???

You can use the Rhino-Rack Masterkey Lock Barrels - Keyed Alike - Qty 2 # RRRK106-2, which comes with the key you'll need to unlock your existing locks with the 106 key code; the key alone is not available, but the extra lock cores that are included can be used if you ever have issues with your existing locks.

In order to remove the locks, with the key inserted you will then need access to the back of the lock. At the back there is a metal tab holding the lock in. Use a flat blade tool or knife to press that tab down while at the same time pushing the lock out from the back.

To insert a new lock put the key in the lock, line it up with the housing, and use the tool to press that tab down again while pushing the lock in from the front.
