What Wireless or Hard-Wired Brake Controller Should I Use On My 2013 Toyota Tacoma.
Question:
Which do you recommend for a 2013 Toyota Tacoma TRD Off Road 4dr, 5foot bed? Can you tell me where to locate the harness plug on the Tacoma to plug in the Tow Pro Liberty? Thanks,

I recommend the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR. You don't need to rely on your mobile device to control your brakes, so you can still use it for GPS or other things. You can add a switch for the curt but it is not as easy.
Your factory plug should be on the left hand side of the emergency brake pedal near the top of the kick panel. It should be a white connector. Sometimes it can be tucked away or banded together with another wire harness.
You will need the Tekonsha Custom Wiring Adapter for Trailer Brake Controllers - Pigtail - Toyota # 3040-P where one end goes to the truck's factory port, and then the other end goes into the # 331-TPH-017 which allows you plug into the controller.
If you do not have a factory tow package you will need the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller - 7-Way RV and 4-Way Flat - 10 Gauge Wires # ETBC7. This will give you the correct connection and harness.
