Can the Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes Be Hooked Up To Power Distribution Center

Question:

The previous owner of our Class A coach installed this part, but he connected the positive side to the power distribution box at the front of the coach versus 6 inches from the battery. That wire run is over 35 feet. Will this be OK or would it be better for me to reinstall it 6 inches from the chassis battery? Conversely, the house battery banklithium is near the rear of the coach. Would there be any problem connecting the positive side to that bank? They are charged by solar and the engine, so there is no danger of the bank being discharged.

The Roadmaster Battery Charge Line Kit for Motorhomes part # RM-156-75 simply requires a power source capable of drawing 15 amps so whether you are hooked up directly to the battery or the power distribution center which is fed from the battery it should not matter. The rule about being six inches from the battery is in reference to the circuit protection but the power distribution center will still follow this standard.
