Unfortunately we don't have 1984 Westfalia Vanagon available to confirm fitment of the Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13701. But this can adjust from 18" to 51" so as to adapt to multiple applications. This of course would require the drilling of holes to mount. Or it can be welded in place too.
The Curt Adjustable Trailer Hitch Receiver, # C13701 has a 2" drop, is a Class III hitch with a 2" receiver that is rated for 5,000 lbs GTW (gross trailer weight) and 500 lbs TW (tongue weight).
