What 5th Wheel Hitch for a 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 Single Cab with 8-Foot Bed Towing 30-Foot Camper

i have a 2009 dodge ram 2500hd w/o overloads single cab 8ft. box. my camper is a 30ft. 1500lbs on truck and 7500lbs empty would the 30047 with semi custom kit work.

The Reese Fifth Wheel Hitch # RP30047 is a universal-fit item that will work in your 2009 Dodge Ram 2500 with 8-foot bed. This is a complete 5th wheel system that includes the 5th wheel hitch head assembly, base rails but will require some base rails to install, I recommend the # RP56011-53, as these custom brackets will utilize the existing holes in your frame to reduce installation time.
Please note that 5th wheel hitches cannot be installed over plastic bed liners (the liner in the mounting areas will have to be cut away to enable metal-to-metal contact) but they can install over spray-on liners.
If your Ram requires a 7-way trailer connector in the truck bed you can use Bargman 90-degree 7-Pole Harness, part # 50-97-410. This harness plugs into your existing bumper-mounted 7-way (and this connector remains active) while providing a 9-foot cable to allow placement of a second 7-pole connector in the truck side rail for your 5th wheel. Please refer to the linked video which shows the installation process.
If you prefer to avoid the mess of greasing your hitch skid plate you can use a nylon lube plate such as the Reese # RP83001. This will also help avoid scratches on your hitch.
