Can Weight Distribution Hitch Be Used With Automatic Leveling On 2010 Lexus LX570?
Question:
Hey guys, i have a Lexus Lx570 with Hydraulic suspension on four corner from factory like every Lx from 1998 have. yes adaptative hydraulic suspension not air suspension. And this suspension is always working as it should to find the best ride comfort and stability it is made like this. On the highway the height of the truck lower of about 1inch for aerodynamic and stability etc so my question is which one is the best for my truck ? Like i said the truck always adjust its self the suspension based on the road condition and speed so the WDH doesnt really work on the Lx570 ? If it was a Toyota Tundra with leaf spring and no adjustment, you set the hitch and go but my truck is always in adjustment mode so how does this affect the ion of my WDH ? The Owner manual dont specify for your truck we suggest the OEM Toyota WDH no, Toyota/Lexus doesnt make WDH and doesnt specify which one to use with Adaptative Variable Suspension. Its hard to explain but if you know what i mean im glad you can help me. Trailer weight is about 5200LBS unload ! Thank you very much !!! I thought about Andersen Wdh because of the chain so the truck can adjust more freely than bars like Equalizer ???

Yes, you can still use a weight distribution hitch with your 2010 Lexus LX570 that has the hydraulic auto leveling. To setup the hitch you will need to hook the trailer up to the vehicle and allow it to level itself, then make the adjustments from there.
Next the chain style weight distribution hitches will not have any more play than those that use bars/brackets as both are under alot of tension to redistribute the tongue weight, and since the chains do not offer as good of sway control (If any) as the bar style systems like Equal-i-zer I do not recommend going that route.
The correct system will be dependent on your setup, so you will need to find your total tongue weight. Total tongue weight is the tongue weight of your fully loaded and ready to tow trailer plus the weight of any cargo behind the rear axle of your LX570. The easiest way to get an accurate tongue weight measurement is with a scale like the # e99044, but there are other methods outlined in the included help article.
For example the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution Hitch # EQ37120ET you were looking at works with total tongue weights between 800-1200lbs so if your total tongue weight falls in that range this would be a perfect option. The Equal-i-zer brand hitches use a 4-point sway control which is one of the best on the market so you will not have to worry about any sway.
If your total tongue weight is below 800lbs then you will want to go with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET which works with total tongue weights between 600-1000lbs.
I included videos of the products mentioned for you to take a look at.
