Can Prodigy P3 Brake Controller be Tested without Trailer Being Connected

Question:

I installed the tekonsha p3 brake controller and was wondering if I am able to test controller with out being hooked to a trailer.

If the Prodigy P3 brake controller # 90195 has any issues when not connected to a trailer it will display them on the screen of the controller. If no error codes are present it's ready to be used without any issue. It does take a trailer to be connected for the complete system to be checked and there's no way to do that without a trailer connected.
