Replacement Leaf Spring for 5200 lb Axle

Question:

I need a replacement leaf spring for a lippert axle model # LC152, serial # 092229 with a GAWR of 5,200 lbs. Can you tell me which spring to order? Thanks

A 5200 lb axle is actually a 6000 lb axle that's been de-rated by using a different outer bearing.

The proper replacement leaf spring will depend on how long the original springs are. Because leaf springs flatten out and become longer as they wear out. To choose the proper replacement, you'll need to know if you have a double eye or a slipper spring. You'll also want to measure the springs by jacking the trailer so that the axles hang free. You'd then measure the center spring eye to center spring eye or the center spring eye to the middle of the slipper end.

You'd then choose the proper replacement from the list I've linked for you. The length and the capacity is what you're looking for, not the number of leaves.

For instance, the # e47SR spring you'd looked at would replace the a 6K spring that's between approximately 25 and 25-1/4 long.
