Solution for 1-1/4 inch Hitch that Needs Rise of 6.8 inches
Question:
Hi, my Pontiac Vibe has an 11inch high hitch with 1.25inch receiver. My new aluminum folding trailer needs the hitch to be 17.8inch high to be level, and takes a 1-7/8inch ball. Whats the least expensive way to make up those 6.8 inches? I need both a riser and a ball. I dont want to spend too much, because I plan on getting a new car in the next year with a factory 2inch hitch. I plan on using the trailer about once a season for thing like mulch, sheet goods, and firewood. Thanks.

For a ball mount and hitch ball to get you close to the 6.8 inches of rise that you need for your 1-1/4 inch hitch you'd want the part # C45028 which has a rise of 5-3/8 inches. And then a ball like the part # 19256. This would get you within an inch or so of being level but there isn't a taller ball mount that could get you closer. This would be close enough for the trailer to be level enough so that you could tow safely.
