What Would Cause An Electric Trailer Jack To Lift The Trailer But Won't Let It Go Down?
Question:
My issue was just the opposite of what is going on in the video. My power jack will go up no problem but it will not go down.

That is a pretty weird issue to have, as typically jacks have an issue trying to lift the tongue of the trailer and have a much easier time lowering.
Based on this I would try the manual override on the jack and see if you can easily lower it by hand, or if you feel any binding/jack is stuck.
If the jack goes down by hand then more than likely the switch went bad and is causing your issue.
If you cannot get the jack to go down by hand, or feel it being very bound then there is more than likely an internal issue with the motor and the jack would need to be replaced. An option such as the Stromberg Carlson Electric Trailer Jack # JET-3755 would be a great replacement option as it fits in the standard A-Frame jack mounting hole.
Let me know what you find and the brand/model of your jack so I can recommend a replacement switch if you find that is the issue.
I included a video of the # JET-3755 for you to take a look at.
