How is the Height Measurement Calculated on the Demco Recon DM8550045
Question:
How is the claimed hitch height measurement measured? Are your measurements from the bed to the kingpin plate? From the kingpin plate to the top of the gooseneck ball? From the bottom of the kingpin to the top of the ball? Or from the bed to the bottom of the kingpin? Thank you! Im just trying to make sure it would fit my setup. I have the BandW turnover ball that sits at 4inch above the truck bed. The measurement we took from the top of the ball to the kingpin plate was 11.75, so from he bed the plate would measure 15.75. Any info you can provide would be much appreciated!

I spoke to Demco about the height settings on the Recon # DM8550045, and it will be from the bed of your truck to the absolute top of the head. With your measurement being 15-3/4", the middle 17-1/4" setting or top 18" setting will be the way to go.
I can also say that the # DM8550045 will fit your current B&W Turnover Ball Gooseneck hitch as long as you are not using a high-rise type ball. With you saying that your ball measured 4 inches tall, however, it is not this style and you will be good to go.
