How Do You Uninstall the DeeZee Tailgate Assist # DZ43200?
Question:
How do you get it off the ball joint. It does not just simply “pull off”? I installed wrong end of the shock and need to reversed it.

For getting the shock off of the ball joint of the DeeZee Tailgate Assist Custom Tailgate-Lowering System for Pickup Trucks # DZ43200, I recommend trying to remove the shock when the truck bed is not fully open. This is because there could be some extra tension on the shock when you try to remove it from the ball joint. Around a 45 degree angle should be fine to give you the slack you need. Also, you may need to use pliers to help remove the shock. Feel free to use a rag in between the teeth and the shock in order to lessen the possibility of scratching or damage to the shock. I went ahead and attached the part of the installation instructions that talks about installing the shock to the ball mount. In addition, I included a full installation video to walk you through the installation process.
As far as removing the ball mount itself to install it onto the correct area, it may be difficult if you have already used the included thread lock fluid. If you used the thread lock, you may have to use extra torque in order to remove the ball mount.
