Which Hitch and 7 Way Wiring Harness for a 2021 Dodge Durango GT
Question:
Hi there I have a 2021 Durango GT. I am looking at the hitch that mounts inside the bumper for the hidden/clean factory look. I need to install a 4pin and 7 pin wiring harness. Are both of those items available with this hitch and, when installed, will the factory flush hitch cover panel still fit over the hitch receiver and the plugs? Thank you!

I have a solution for you, but there is not a package with all of these parts offered so you'll need to get the individual parts. I'm also skeptical that there is room to fit a 7 way trailer plug in the opening left by removing the knockout panel; the 4 way fits without issue, but you'll likely need to find a mounting location below the bumper for the 7 way connector because of its' size.
With that said, you can use the Draw-Tite # DT38MR and it will fit right behind the knockout panel, hidden from sight. This is a Class III hitch with a 2 inch receiver and it's a slightly newer version of the # 76196, which would also work in the same manner.
For the wiring harnesses, you'll want to start by adding the 4 way using the Curt # C56336 and then adding the Universal Installation Kit for Trailer Brake Controller # ETBC7 or # ETBC7L (for wireless brake controllers); this will give you the 4 way and 7 way connector you'll need to tow a trailer with brakes. The # ETBC7 and # ETBC7L kits come with all of the wiring, butt connectors and circuit breakers, so there's no need for additional parts to complete the installation.
Since your 2021 Durango GT didn't come with the towing package, you won't have a plug and play installation available for a brake controller; for that reason I recommend using a wireless controller like the Curt Echo Mobile # C51180. This brake controller is operated via an app on your Android 4.4 (or newer)/iOS 8.0 (or newer) and provides you with the responsive, proportional braking that often comes with the newer traditional style controllers.
If you also don't already have a ball mount, hitch ball, hitch pin and clip, using something like the etrailer Ball Mount Kit # EBMK2416 gives you a ball mount that can be used in either rise or drop orientation, both 2" and 2-5/16" hitch balls, a hitch pin, clip and carrying bag. This is a versatile solution if you're towing more than one trailer or may be upgrading to a larger trailer soon.
I've linked some review and installation videos of these parts for you to check out as well.
