Can Tuson DirecLink be Used with Semi Trucks

Question:

I have a semi truck and pull a trailer with electric drum brakes. I see some kind of a module included in the adapter cord kit. I have a 9 pin to 16 pin adapter cable. Could I use it? What is that rectangular box included in the adapter kit and what does it do? Is it necessary?

Since even semi trucks like what you have use OBDII connectors the Tuson DirecLink Base Model Trailer Brake Controller # 335DL-100 that you referenced can be used.

The module of this is what interprets the brake signal from your tow vehicle and decides how much brake pressure to apply.

As long as your current adapter setup has a brake output circuit that makes it's way to the trailer brakes that wouldn't be an issue either.
