I have a great solution for you. Unfortunately, if you have an older model of Westin Nerf bars, the only way to confirm whether a certain current model would work is if you have the serial number or model of the bars. The reason why the length of the nerf bars will not determine if new bars would fit is because manufacturers make customized mounting hardware for specific nerf bar models for certain years/makes/models of vehicles. They are extremely specific about the hardware.

However, for a current model of Westin nerf bars/hardware with that will fit your 1998 Ford F-150 supercab, I recommend the Westin E-Series Round Nerf Bars - 3" Wide # 23-1110. The bars are made with 304 stainless steel tubing with polished finish that is long-lasting and rustproof. As far as installation, the E-Series bars come with all mounting hardware required for a bolt-on installation.
