Is Arc Normal When Running Jumper Wire to Brake Output Circuit of Trailer Wiring
Question:
I do not have trailer brakes with new travel trailer but have two other trailers brakes work fine. I connected jumper cables from truck battery and touched hot wire to brake terminal and it arcs. Is this normal.

If you are seeing an arc or spark when running a 12 volt wire to your brake output circuit that would indicate that the circuit is shorted to ground and would be reason it's not working. You'd need to go over the circuit looking for any cut or exposed wire and fix as needed.
