Which is Better 12 inch Trailer Tire Size 4.80-12 or 5.30-12
Question:
I have a founder jet ski trailer with 2 jet skis. I need new tires and rims. It currently has 5.30x12 on it. I’m making a 9 hour trip hauling it. I see all kinds of comments that say 4.80s are better. What ge difference? I’ve always replaced tires on automobile tires with factory sizes and have never replaced these trailer tires so I’m confused.

Between the 4.80-12 and the 5.30-12 I'd stick with the taller 5.30-12 especially for a long distance trip since the taller the wheel the slower the wheel and hub would actually get spun putting less wear and tear on those components.
In that size the best tire option is the part # TT53012C as it has a higher speed rating of 81 mph and a great weight capacity of 1,050 lbs at 80 psi.
