Recommended e-Bike Rack for Travel Trailer

Question:

I need to carry two 70 lb. electric fat tire bikes on my travel trailer. Either a receiver mount for behind the trailer or some type of tongue mount, like a Jack-It style on steroids, as I have the tongue weight capacity to do so. Does such a rack exist? I tow with a Jeep Grand Cherokee with factory tow package and 5.7L V8. Thanks

The tire width and weight of your bikes plus the fact that you wish to carry them on a travel trailer makes it a challenge to find a rack that will work for you. Although we don't offer a trailer tongue mounted rack that would work for the bikes you describe, we might have a solution or two that would work.

If your tires are 3 inches wide or less, the Swagman E-Spec, part # S94FR which is usable on a travel trailer and has a 70 lb per bike capacity.

If your bike tires are 3-1/4 inches wide or less, and the bike's battery packs can be removed to bring their weight down to 66 lbs each or less, the Yakima OnRamp, part # Y36FR would work well for you.

If your tires are wider, unfortunately we don't offer a solution that's safe for use on a travel trailer. A bike rack installed on the rear of a travel trailer would be subjected to more punishment than it would if it were installed on a passenger vehicle due to the longer rear overhang and less pliable suspension found on a travel trailer. In order to withstand these forces, a bike rack needs to be specially designed for use on a towed trailer.

I've linked to demonstration videos for the racks I recommended.
