Recommended Bumper Mounted Spare Tire Carrier for Camper

Question:

I have an 2008 Aliner sport camper. I am in need of a bumper mount spare tire carrier. I had a Stromberg Carlson TR-1. After only 3 years the steel by the lower bolt broke in half while traveling and luckily the rest of it held together and I did not loose the tire while driving. I have 205/75/14 tires with a 5 x 4 1/2 bolt pattern. Also I have a 4inch x 4inch bumper. I am wondering which tire carrier you would recommend. I am leery to go with a TR-1 again. There seems to be some complaints about the Ultra Fab having wobble to it? I dont need the fold down option. Im not sure if there is wobble if not using the fold down option? Is the Ultra Fab any sturdier than the TR-1? Or would the Brophy BR56VR be a sturdier unit and worth the extra money? I dont want to have another failure and chance loosing the spare tire while driving. Thanks for any information you can provide.

I'd avoid a folding carrier like the Ultra-Fab # UF15-954730 if you don't really need that feature as the folding mechanism is usually the weak link.

I'd recommend going with the CR Brophy # BR56VR spare tire carrier. The carrier is manufactured in the US of quality materials, and although we haven't had many customer reviews on the item, those who rated it have rated it highly.

I've linked to an install/demonstration video for the CR Brophy # BR56VR spare tire carrier.
