Can Swagman Bike Frame Adapter Bar Be Used With Heavy Ebikes On Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack?

Question:

I have 2 elby step through ebikes which weigh 55 lbs. each including the battery which weighs about 8 lbs. I have just purchased the Swagman espec bike rack product # S94FR for use on the back of our 2015 Winnebago View 24J motor home. In one of the QandAs, you indicated that the Swagman bar adaptor #64005 would be good to clamp down ebikes up to 70 lbs. on this rack but the specs for this bar adaptor show a weight capacity of 35 lbs. per bike? Not sure if the 35 lbs. refers to hanging the bike on a hanging type rack as opposed to a rack with a ratchet clamp? Can you please clarify this and, if the 64005 wont work for, what do you recommend? Thanks.

You will be fine using the Swagman Deluxe Bike Frame Adapter Bar # 64005 on your Swagman E-Spec Bike Rack # S94FR. The ebike will just be held in place by the adapter bar, thus you won't be putting all the weight on the adapter bar and you will not be exceeding the weight capacity.
