Why Does Thule Gateway Bike Rack Only Seem to Lock Outside Bike
Question:
The integrated lock does not extend beyond the bike that is in the farthest position from the car. Is there an extra part one has to buy to extend the locking so it can reach the bike closest to the car?

So the reason the lock of the Thule Gateway part # TH88VR only secures the furthest out bike on the rack is because if you have that bike secure no one would be able to pull a bike past that one.
