Upgrading 4.80-12 Tires On Yacht Club Trailer

Question:

I have a Yacht Club single PWC trailer with 4.80-12 tires, I’m looking for something larger and better looking. What’s the largest rim /tire combo I can use?

Adding larger wheels/tires to a trailer really comes down to fender clearance. The recommended fender clearance is about 4" from the top of the tire to the bottom of the fender and then about 1" from the tire to the inside of the frame. The next size up from a 4.80-12 is a 175/80-13, the Karrier ST175/80R13 Radial Trailer Tire with 13" Galvanized Wheel part # AM31994 is what I recommend. It measures 24" diameter x 7" wide which is 3.5" diameter x 2.2" wide larger than the existing.
